Renowned rockers with solid riffs and immortal indie anthems
British indie rock duo Blood Red Shoes, with Steven Ansell on drums and vocals and Laura-Mary Carter on guitar and vocals, has stayed true to their signature mix of gritty riffs and relentless energy for twenty years. After the well-received debut album Box of Secrets in 2008, the duo hasn’t slowed down: following five more albums, their latest record, THE STONE TAPES, was released in the summer of 2023. Live, they guarantee a wall of sound and an intense, no-nonsense show. According to Blood Red Shoes, rock ‘n’ roll will never die – it might just get a little strange and old. And with exactly that mentality, they’ll return to EKKO next summer.
Support: No Prisoners
Belgian band No Prisoners delivers punchy, melodic noise rock with gritty edges and infectious harmonies. Fronted by Pieter-Paul Devos (Kapitan Korsakov, Raketkanon), the trio crafts short, powerful tracks that go straight for the gut. Think: energy, urgency, and not a second wasted. So if you’re into raw intensity with a healthy dose of punk attitude, this one’s not to be missed.
