Portsmouth post-punk with pub rock bravado and angular grooves
The music of Hotel Lux feels like a smoky pub in the ‘70s, with a Guinness in your hand. The six young Brits blend post-punk, ska, and pub rock into a sharp, distinctive sound. Stoic vocals, angular guitars, and soulful grooves, sometimes brightened with organs and violins, create an atmosphere that cuts and scrapes. While their friends from Shame and Deadletter reach a growing audience, Hotel Lux is ready to become the best new cult band of the London scene. Their debut album Hands Across The Creek (2023) exceeded all audience expectations; this spring, they’ll bring new material to EKKO.
Support: Mood Bored
Who says an existential crisis can’t be fun? The indie rock Mood Bored creates blends nihilistic cynicism with genuine hope — a set of nostalgic songs about finding your place in a world that seems to be falling apart. With poppy hooks, punky basslines and guitar-driven melodies, they make melancholy moshable and doubt danceable.
