Lookman Adekunle (L.A.) Salami was born in London and grew up in foster care. Out of frustration and to find calm, the young Salami would put on his headphones at night, listening to Bob Dylan. Later, he broadened his horizons and found inspiration in artists like Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Kanye West. This mix of influences forms the foundation of his raw, fragile, and irresistibly unique music. Salami tells his story with sharp lyrics and warm, bluesy melodies. Effortlessly switching between singing and spoken, rap-like vocals, he never loses sight of the core of his message. Inspired by the Greek virtue sôphrosunê, the art of self-control and inner balance, Salami is ushering in a new era this fall: THE ERA OF SOPHROSYNE.
