Nachtmotten presents a theatrical concert in space. Three astronauts are drifting in a space station that has gone out of orbit. There is no way back, and it is only a matter of time before the great darkness swallows their capsule. As the void envelops them, they reflect on the meaning of existence through soundscapes, ripping guitars and synthesisers, at a time when meaning no longer matters.
This performance was created with submissions from the audience. Ticket buyers could submit ideas for a text, action, song, costume or other element of the performance until the end of January. These were all incorporated into the final result by Nachtmotten. It’s still possible to buy tickets for the show.
Nachtmotten is a hybrid art collective with creators from different artistic disciplines. The collective draws from different forms of theatre, performance art, industrial design, philosophy, music and visual art. With this mix of specialisms, Nachtmotten creates a wide range of diverse artistic expressions. Their work is characterised by an interplay of visual and performative experiments and a critical yet ironic take on society – in this case a philosophical and musical search for meaning.
