IRISH NOISE ROCK FORMATION DELIVERS EXCITING LEVEL OF DISCOMFORT
Staggering kicks, grating vocals and rock-hard atonal lyrics: the Irish members of Gilla Band avoid the predictable and seek discomfort in corners where many are afraid to go. With a noisy and almost manic whole and trips to techno and glam rock, they drag you into their idiosyncratic noise rock sound. Just listen to ‘The Talkies’ released in 2019 or ‘Most Normal’ released last year. With an explosion of energy, Gilla Band brings their musical chaos to EKKO this late summer, only to leave you completely disrupted afterwards. And now, jump into that moshpit!
Support: Lambrini Girls
A performance by the Brighton trio Lambrini Girls never goes unnoticed. The band creates a sleazy cocktail of punk, avant-garde pop and indie with hard, mocking lyrics full of social and political commentary. Inspired by unprocessed traumas and artists such as Le Tigre, Savages and The Spice Girls, the queer trio is ready to take over the world. Last summer they narrowly fell into Best Kept Secret; soon they will come to EKKO for a frenzied performance where everyone can be themselves.
