UTRECHTERS EXPRESS FRUSTRATION IN RAW, ALTERNATIVE ROCK
The Utrecht-based band Navigate claims not to know their way around, but is hammering away at it. They do this by expressing their frustration in the form of punchy guitars and hard drums, to come up with an end result that everyone can go wild to. With this mindset, Navigate released their debut album, ‘Nothing Ever Happens Around Here,’ the first tracks of which are well received and have already been heard on Radio Veronica and KINK. This evening they celebrate their album release in EKKO and kick off their first headlining tour.
Support: Bitterlemon
Bitterlemon mixes indie rock with synthpop and tops it off with a dose of melancholy. The band takes listeners away with dreamy vocals and mellow synth sounds, but also puts you back on your feet mercilessly hard through heavier artillery. What that sounds like has been available to listen to on streaming services since this year; two singles are currently out from the forthcoming debut EP, created in collaboration with producer Jurriaan Sielcken (Jagd, Tape Toy, Jett Rebel).
