South Londoners intertwine diverse genres in unorthodox post-punk

In 2016, Goat Girl made their debut with the single ‘Country Sleaze’, a title that aptly captured the essence of the post-punk formation. Meanwhile, the trio is back with the new album ‘Below the Waste’, showcasing a whole new development. Expertly weaving between diverse elements of sprawling noise-rock, delicate folk experiments, and satisfying synth-pop, their unique blend of styles and unorthodox recording methods once again proves that Goat Girl is one of the coolest London bands of the moment. Co-produced by John ‘Spud’ Murphy (known for black midi’s ‘Cavalcade’ and more recently Lankum’s Mercury-nominated ‘False Lankum’), Goat Girl’s approach on ‘Below the Waste’ is confident and mature, while still maintaining a playful sense of curiosity and wonder. From their self-titled debut (2018) to the escapist world of the second album ‘On All Fours’ (2021), the South London trio enters their most self-assured era with the new album set to release in the summer of 2024.
