The largest free traveling music festival in the Netherlands is back in EKKO again

Once again, we welcome Popronde Utrecht this year at EKKO! Popronde is a traveling music festival that takes place each fall in around thirty cities across the country. During Popronde, talented acts tour the Netherlands to build their name, expand their network, and reach a new audience. At EKKO, you’ll find a diverse selection of musicians from all over the Netherlands on this night.

Iris Jean
Iris Jean writes the soundtrack of her life, like a movie where the music allows you to escape into a new reality. Powerful yet vulnerable songs, along with Iris Jean’s tender voice, create both hope and melancholy. Rough guitars and dreamy synthesizers provide a contrast between chaos and peace.

Yan Lâle
Amsterdam-based Yan Lâle weaves sounds from different worlds together, blending English and Turkish vocals. Explore the magic live as you embark on a sonic journey. With their debut EP Otherlands, Yan Lâle invites you to explore their universe.

Gespuys
Strong, poetic lyrics from this alt-pop duo are combined with solid beats, hypnotic synths, and cohesive guitars. Gespuys speaks a familiar language that captures the absurdity of everyday life. They make you dance to traumas—just listen to Afgeleefd (Ik ben een man) and you’ll get what we mean.

TAXITAXI
Three madmen behind the wheel of a rusty car without brakes. Punk boyband TAXITAXI tears through Popronde cities at full speed. Singing along is mandatory with lyrics like “who wants to see my VWO diploma,” “I’m your team leader,” and “people talk, so what.” Hop in.

BUG
BUG’s live sets are packed with energy, featuring performers crawling all over each other and stirring up mosh pits in the crowd. With a sound somewhere between hip-hop, punk, and rave, there’s no escaping BUG—you have to dance. Expect a raw, energetic chaos. FFO (For Fans Of): Death Grips, Ho99o9, and The Prodigy.

Katja Isabella & Sam Heegstra
Katja Isabella & Sam Heegstra bring a wide arsenal of mp3s, flying from new wave to leftfield pop and from electronica to guitar music, building a bridge from club anthems to groovy hip-hop. It’s a guarantee that this duo’s sets will be danceable, melodic, and spanning across decades.
