UTRECHT CLUB NIGHT CELEBRATES A YEAR OF BRIDGING UK GARAGE, HOUSE, HIP HOP, AND MORE

An ode to the energy and diversity of modern sounds from the UK – the Utrecht club concept DON’T MIND THE GAP brings a breath of fresh air. A night bursting with energy and genre crossovers. From soulful UKG and house sounds with sultry R&B vocals to heavy UK bass, grime, and jungle, DON’T MIND THE GAP bridges the gap. For a whole year now. And that deserves to be celebrated.

De Schuurman
As one of the torchbearers of the bubbling scene, The Hague DJ and producer De Schuurman has been active since the late 2000s. With over ten years of experience, releases on the Ugandan label Nyege Nyege Tapes, and performances at Draaimolen, Boiler Room, and Berghain, he has become a fixture in the club and festival circuit. His productions blend Afro-diasporic sounds, bubbling, hip hop, and R&B, resulting in a set full of energy, rhythm switches, and high tempos. After the first note, the roof blows off, and there’s only one option left: NU GA JE DANSEN!

Jazz Dalia
Utrecht-based Jazz Dalia has recently been making waves in the Dutch scene with performances at Garage Noord, Het Moment, and her own night, Ghettolicious. Her explosive sound ranges from ghettotech and garage to jungle and baile funk, intertwined with heavy basslines and percussion rooted in her Surinamese heritage. She previously played at UUUDITIONS at NAR, and tonight she will close out the anniversary at EKKO.

puurvuur
Utrecht producer and DJ puurvuur draws inspiration from the UK underground. He is known for his residency at Reload, the P2P label/collective, and as one half of the duo SOFT CLIP. Expect versatile tracks, from UK drill & bass to SoundCloud beats, with smooth transitions between club bangers and bootlegs.

RAGA
The evening kicks off with Don’t Mind The Gap’s own RAGA. He lays the foundation for the 1-year anniversary with a playful mix of garage, UK funky, and breakbeat.
