AUSTRALIAN DIY PUNK WITH HUMOUR, HYSTERIA AND HEART
Australian trio Dune Rats are known for their feel-good DIY punk rock. These Aussie punks deliver infectious, carefree, yet gritty punk and garage rock anthems. Born in Brisbane – a breeding ground for rebellious, high-energy music – Dune Rats are no exception. On their latest and fifth album, ‘If It Sucks, Turn It Up’, they still don’t take life too seriously. Expect a hefty dose of humor, dirty punk riffs, and above all: pure energy, fun, and the power of friendship. This summer, Dune Rats are coming to EKKO with over a decade of success behind them and a brand-new album in hand.
Support: Birth of Manuel
The Utrecht punk band Birth of Manuel, powered by Faxe, was formed by members of Throwing Bricks, Ontaard and Ciao Bon Jovi Jon Bon Jon Jovi Jon, with the sole purpose of having fun. After releasing their debut album Death Of in 2019, the band stopped playing. A few years later, Birth of Manuel rose from the ashes of a smoked joint to play a few shows again. With a full rebirth and a new album on the way, the band is ready to reaffirm their strong live reputation with a musical assault of hardcore, post-punk, noise rock, and metal.
This show is part of a pilot by EKKO and booking agency Friendly Fire. For all concerts co-organized by EKKO and Friendly Fire in 2025, we’re offering three different ticket price options: a regular ticket, a reduced-price ticket, and a higher-priced support ticket. The latter two are available in limited quantities, while supplies last. Since financial considerations often play a big role in the decision to go out — and not everyone has the same budget — we want to explore the impact of offering tiered ticket pricing. The higher-priced support tickets exist to make the reduced-price tickets possible, not to generate extra income for EKKO, Friendly Fire, or the artist.
