LOUD MUSIC FOR SILENT STRUGGLES

On Sunday, December 14, 2025 we celebrate life and all the layers that come with it. Packed to the brim with post-punk, metal and punk, inspiring talks, and extra attention for everyone who has ever felt, or feels, out of place. After the passing of HOOFS frontman, our friend and diva Ramón van Geytenbeek, we saw the alternative music community come together. We want to share this support with each other and with you, at EKKO. With talks by Lucky Fonz III and others, and performances by six emerging and established punk and metal bands:

Bowl
This five-piece band from Utrecht brings a fresh atmosphere that the post-punk genre gladly welcomes. The band delivers atonal, disorienting guitar riffs, sharp lyrics, tight drums and bass and, above all, a gigantic energy that fills the entire venue.

Femme Fugazi
Like a wrecking ball through the church of angry music and angrier girls; FEMME FUGAZI combines spoken word, manic unpredictability and lyrics about the searing love for Gerard Joling into a possessed whole.

HOOFS
With a raw combination of punk, noise and post-punk, HOOFS was once described as “not for wimps.” But nothing could be further from the truth. Their energetic live shows are about celebrating life and creating an environment where you can truly be yourself. Gritty basslines, pounding drums, cutting guitars and inescapable vocal lines. ‘Wimps’ welcome.

Ontaard
Melodic, heavy and alienating: Ontaard is a post-metal band from Utrecht. Expect black metal riffs, spoken word and noise elements, forged together into heart-wrenching sounds.

Rats & Daggers
The trio Rats and Daggers seeks out the razor-sharp edge between heavy and punk. With pure emotion and brute energy they ignite the mosh pits instantly. Rats and Daggers channels the firepower of IDLES, the swagger of Queens of the Stone Age and the screw-it-all attitude of Amyl and The Sniffers into a mixture that fills the air with pure adrenaline.

Special guests: to be announced

Out of Place is a benefit in collaboration with 113 Suicide Prevention. On this day you too will be accepted, comforted, and thrown through the mosh pit. Tonight, EKKO is the place for people who normally don’t feel at home. You don’t have to do it alone.
