Utrecht artist brings dreamy electropop with a Scandinavian touch

CHARLOT is driven by a deep need to understand. After writing her debut album Lost Like Alice, in which she wandered through questions of meaning and identity, she has discovered in her new work that identity might not be what it’s truly about. Inspired by psychology and Eastern philosophy, she realized she had drifted a little away from what is essential: her first love for the act of creating itself, the practice of (self-)compassion, and the ability to remain in awe and stay curious. Her new music emerges when she turns inward and slows down, in a world that keeps rushing ahead.

The band likes to describe their sound as “cinematic art-pop” (or “cinemapop”): music that feels like film. With a strong emphasis on visual storytelling, hypnotic synth layers, and vocals that feel intimate and mystical. On stage, this grows into a multidisciplinary performance—an immersive, dreamlike world where music and art intertwine.

In recent years, CHARLOT and her band were named the #2 best act at Noorderslag by 3voor12 (“CHARLOT and her band are ready for the bigger venues”). They performed at Lowlands, supported Froukje at AFAS Live and the Lotto Arena, and toured with their own show across the Netherlands and Belgium.

NEBULA creates atmospheric and electronic songs that the listener can sink into. On stage, surrounded by electronic instruments, she makes music that is hypnotic yet simultaneously dynamic and pulsating.
