Raw Female Punk Rock from Flanders
After bringing their Flemish punk rock to festivals like Best Kept Secret, Down The Rabbit Hole and Into The Great Wide Open last summer, it’s about time for Maria Iskariot to tear down EKKO. The band still doesn’t have answers to all your questions. What they do offer is a damp hand to anyone who has practiced the dance steps to the waltz of the hopeless.
The four-headed dog has meanwhile grown into a tender monster that celebrates friendship, fades away aversion, and underlines life itself. With their music, the band tells raw and confronting stories in a playful and relatable way. They thrive on contrasts and dualities: tenderness versus aggression, chaos versus control, and hope versus despair.
