If you could capture Berlin in a sound, it would be the music of Curses. The duo from the German capital combines melancholic, 80s-inspired pop, romantic post-punk, and the DIY energy of early EBM. And if the music wasn’t cool enough, Curses also excels in style. The Parisian fashion brand Saint Laurent released a limited edition LP, and their music can be heard in campaigns for Dior and Raf Simons/Calvin Klein. A new album is on the way, soaked in the signature Curses’ ghostly guitars and haunting vocals.

Put musicians from Los Angeles and Bologna together, and you get a fresh and ultra-cool blend of Italo, disco, and dark pop. After the release of their well-received debut EP ‘Exposure’ in 2019, their widely acclaimed album ‘New Earth’ exploded onto dance floors in cities around the world two years later. Following another album in 2023, the band is now releasing new singles, including remixes of earlier tracks by their friends from Curses. In the fall of 2024, they will tour together, and we’ll find out if Utrecht is ready for this unmissable double bill.
