Zealand melancholy wrapped in a refreshing blend of indie, folk, and jazz with quirky lyrics.
Out of nowhere, De Toegift suddenly emerged at the start of 2023. The melancholic sounds of their self-titled debut album blew over to mainland Netherlands and Belgium with the force of a gale. With quirky lyrics and a fresh mix of indie, folk, and jazz, this six-piece brings a new sound to the Dutch music scene. Now joined by a violinist and flutist, De Toegift continues to seek experimentation, as heard on their remix EP De vormen voelen vreemd (2023), featuring collaborations with artists like Lucky Fonz III and Gladde Paling. With new singles, the band is now announcing their debut album, which they will present during an extensive club tour, including a stop at our venue this February.

His lofi new wave tracks blend different eras and themes, drawing influence from ’80s punk and new wave, while also incorporating elements of contemporary indie pop. The result is a unique sound that bridges past and present styles.
