An ode to the energy and diversity of modern sounds from the UK, club night DON’T MIND THE GAP brings a breath of fresh air. A night packed with energy, genre crossovers, and extended sets allowing selectors to showcase their most versatile side and explore experimentation. This edition, CHALÉ & Garnett will showcase a broad spectrum of sounds from soulful UKG and warmer house cuts with percussive drum patterns to wobbling UK bass and hints of hip-hop.
CHALÉ
As a name that has become a staple in the Amsterdam nightlife scene, we are hyped to bring CHALÉ to Utrecht. With residencies at Operator radio and Parallels’ clubnight Terra, the DJ/Producer with Ghanaian roots has been showcasing an extensive selection of club music spanning across the African diaspora and global hip-hop influences to energetic UK Bass and garage. Whether it’s recently found selections or his own Drum Dub club edits, CHALÉ blends everything together with absolute ease and expertise.
Garnett
If there is someone who can bring the UK sound to EKKO it’s the UK born and Utrecht based Garnett. As a selector, he carefully navigates through a wide spectrum of records and is constantly merging sounds from all kinds of different genres, from the likes of percussive UK funky and house to melodic breakbeats. Not bound by any limitations, Garnett manages to create a unique mixture where contrasting frequencies harmonize while constantly keeping the dancefloor engaged in everything he does.
