ENERGY-PACKED CLUB NIGHT BRIDGES UK GARAGE, HOUSE, HIPHOP AND MORE...
An ode to the energy and diversity of modern sounds from the UK, club night DON’T MIND THE GAP aims to bring a breath of fresh air. A night packed with energy, genre crossovers, and extended sets allowing selectors to showcase their most versatile side and explore experimentation. This edition, Australian Surusinghe and local(ish) legend Jazz Dalia will present a wide spectrum of sounds, from UKG to breaks to energetic UK bass, with touches of hip-hop and, at all times, an overwhelming surge of energy.
Surusinghe
With their first international booking, DON’T MIND THE GAP is bringing the Australian-born and now London-based powerhouse Surusinghe to EKKO. You might know her from her Boiler Room set or her breakbeat club banger ‘Likshot’. As a producer, she is known for her unique blends of heavy basslines and percussive drum patterns, drawing inspiration from Asian sounds. Her DJ sets are dynamic, unpredictable, and genre-defying, seamlessly moving between breaks, UK bass, reggaeton, and more. She has previously showcased her energetic sound at Lentekabinet, Draaimolen, and the infamous Panorama Bar in Berlin, and now, for the first time, in Utrecht.
Jazz Dalia
Even though she had the questionable idea to move to Amsterdam, we still see Jazz Dalia as our local star. From day one, she has been a beloved supporter of DON’T MIND THE GAP and has repeatedly proven that her sound perfectly aligns with the night’s vibe. From hard-hitting UKG and bass-heavy club bangers to nostalgic hip-hop anthems, Jazz has been making waves in the Dutch scene for a while now, unleashing her explosive sound at venues like Sissi’s Amsterdam, Garage Noord, and her own club night Ghettolicious. With boundless energy, she moves between ghettotech and UK garage to jungle and baile funk, seamlessly blending these sounds with heavy basslines and percussion inspired by her Surinamese roots.
