A Punk Night in Celebration of International Women’s Day
GIRLS TO THE FRONT: A PUNK CELEBRATION FOR INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
This International Women’s Day, EKKO, in collaboration with Utrecht-based filmmaker and curator Bibi Bannink, pays tribute to the power of women in punk. After a successful debut edition at dB’s, Girls To The Front moves to our venue for an evening packed with raw energy, uncompromising music, and inspiring art.
With four electrifying Dutch punk bands—Dear Omen, Death Sells, L.A. Sagne, and Waterschade—you can expect an evening that doesn’t just sound like a revolution but feels like one. Celebrate with us, because: Girls to the Front!
Waterschade
Waterschade is a young punk band from Haarlem that has no patience for patriarchy, racism, or capitalism. Their music features tight basslines, heavy riffs, and plenty of screaming. With a mix of hardcore punk and riot grrrl vibes, a mosh pit is guaranteed!
L.A. Sagne
A wall of sound that blows you away and songs that lodge themselves in your brain with explosive energy. Amsterdam’s L.A. Sagne delivers catchy hooks and a fierce, in-your-face vibe. The razor-sharp garage punk of Tara Wilts (vocals), Joost van Eck (bass), Lazlo Rogier (guitar), and Martin Brummelkamp (drums) is characterized by brevity and relentless tempos.
Dear Omen
This Amsterdam-based group is a heavy-hearted post-punk band. With solid basslines, hard-hitting drum rhythms, and searing guitar work, Dear Omen is a band you won’t soon forget. Over the past year, they’ve worked hard on their new EP, The S Tapes, which dropped in December 2024.
Death Sells
Dutch quartet Death Sells blends grunge, noise, and punk into a dissonant and gripping sound. With raw riffs and intense lyrics about being lost in your thoughts, selfishness, and complex experiences, they leave a lasting impression.
