The Congolese band KOKOKO! returns in a renewed form after several successful world tours and a break, consisting of producer Xavier Thomas (aka Débruit) and self-proclaimed ‘seigneur de l’ambiance’ Makara Biance. The duo reflects the urban nightlife of the capital Kinshasa through their lo-fi dance-pop with hypnotic and percussion-driven sounds. KOKOKO!’s music is a way to express frustration and anger about the current state of affairs in their homeland. With their free and raw sound, they serve as the soundtrack of a radical movement that stands for a better future for Kinshasa.
