Perfect Indie Disco XL is back with its traditional end-of-year edition: a glorious indie celebration at EKKO to close off the year. Featuring Arie van Vliet’s musical New Year’s Eve show, an indie pop quiz, and three promising live acts. Host St. Paul will be spinning records and eating oliebollen from the start until deep into the night.
Kaat van Stralen
Kaat Van Stralen doesn’t like to be boxed in. Stern but fair, Kaat calls every genre to account: punk, psychedelic, alternative spoken word… Expect fiery linguistic chaos, crackling beats, biting guitar riffs, and pompous bass lines. Influences include Amyl & The Sniffers, Wet Leg, and Fiona Apple, but delivered deliciously in Flemish.
Cardigan Inn
The five-piece young new wave band Cardigan Inn brings dynamic 80s-inspired synthpop with an edgy twist. Their songs explore love, desire, and the mystique of digital life. Led by an enigmatic singer, their lyrics dive into introspection and urban disillusionment.
Immen
Warm vocals, intimate indie folk, and a dark edge . These are the building blocks of Immen’s songs. The Utrecht-based singer-songwriter mainly sings in English but sometimes returns to her Frisian mother tongue, creating a surprisingly supernatural atmosphere around her earthy guitar sounds.
