INTIMATE AND UNCONVENTIONAL FOLK-POP WITH COLORFUL VOCAL TEXTURES
Pitou’s music feels like a warm glow in a dark room: intimate, enchanting, and deeply rooted in her classical background. As a child, she discovered an inexplicable love for orchestras and choirs—a passion that led her from the St. Matthew Passion to the christening of Princess Catharina-Amalia. This rich foundation resonates in Big Tear, her highly acclaimed debut album, where vocal layers, wistful melodies, and classical instruments merge into world-class alternative pop. Live, Pitou increasingly lets go of the guitar, placing her voice and body at the center. The result is performances that feel both vulnerable and powerful, as if time briefly stands still. According to 3voor12, ‘she taps into an inexhaustible source of superpower’—an experience that stays with you.
Support: Olivia Degen
The Utrecht-based Olivia Degen is the musical duo of visual artist/songwriter Olivia Degen and guitarist/composer Benjamin de Raad. Drawing influences from Brazilian bossa nova, they create serene, atmospheric, contemporary folk. They record using a 4-track cassette recorder, allowing not only vocals and guitar but also the atmosphere and space to be heard. Live, they bring that same intimacy, as if you’re secretly listening in on their musical bubble. Their debut album will be released in 2025, but first, they’ll be touring as support for artists such as Andrew Combs, Cerys Hafana, and Jordan Klassen.
