DUNGEON SYNTH WITH A NOSTALGIC VIDEOGAME-VIBE
The Australian dungeon synth artist Quest Master creates nostalgic music with a sense of adventure and a wandering 8-bit odyssey. By blending classic synthesizer sounds with a modern approach to dungeon synth, he has become an important figure in this underground music genre. Quest Master’s albums, such as The Twelve Castles (2020) and The Twelve Temples (2021), have been well-received within the community. These albums incorporate chiptune elements combined with an ambient and medieval atmosphere. In March 2024, Quest Master completed his first U.S. tour, and now he will also be touring Europe.
Support: Fragmented Memories
Fragmented Memories, based in Amsterdam, blends atmospheric Dungeon Synth soundscapes with themes from fantasy and science fiction. Her music has a deeply introspective style, drawing listeners into melancholic and haunting melodies. The core element is a sense of nostalgia, which serves as a backdrop for evoking memories… even those one might prefer to forget.
Support: Victorian Specter
Comfy synth has rarely sounded so eerie. Victorian Specter pays homage to a lonesome past, recalling kings and queens, reapers and sowers, ghosts and fairies. As a representative of the Phantom Lure label with a handful of EPs, Victorian Specter offers a haunting mix of eclectic dungeon synth, neo-classical comfy synth, and a hint of the Berlin School.
