Farewell service for the pop culture phenomenon of the year
It would take quite a twist for BRAT not to go down in history as *the* pop culture phenomenon of 2024. To celebrate Charli XCX’s album and all the memes surrounding it one more time, EKKO will be hosting a full-blown BRAT farewell service this December. This event is dedicated to the album that bathed everything, absolutely everything, in a lime-green glow this year. Featuring three emerging Dutch live acts inspired by Charli and, of course, the Netherlands’ own BRAT DJ, Liza van den Brink.
CLAAR
Claar creates an awesome mix of pop and hyperpop, inspired by artists like Charli XCX. With her catchy songs, she delves into themes such as love, feminism, and mental health, creating tracks that are both personal and relatable to everyone.
Janet Livv
The 23-year-old artist Janet Livv brings a unique sound to EKKO with her emotional melodies and pop instrumentals. Her music floats between drum ‘n bass, UK garage, and dance, offering an experience that is both comforting and self-reflective.
Firoza
Firoza puts a fresh spin on pop as a self-proclaimed hyperpop princess. With high energy and powerful beats, she sings about life and love with provocative lyrics that often push boundaries. In 2020, she released her debut single *Flirt* under the Burning Fik label, which is now heading toward a quarter million streams.
Liza van den Brink
Self-proclaimed genre-fluid DJ Liza van den Brink started out behind the scenes in the club circuit before making a leap to the turntables. For Liza, versatility is key. In addition to being the founder of the queer party Iconic, Liza brings an energetic vibe to the dance floor whenever behind the decks.
