Young Cultures are organizing a 15+ evening at Ekko
At Young Minds, we hand over control to young curators from Utrecht who design an evening for the new generation. Visitors aged 15 and up are welcome to experience live shows from local acts and dance into the night to the sounds of DJs.
The Revolution was born from these young people’s observation that there are too few evenings for a younger audience in the city of Utrecht, so now they are starting the revolution themselves. July 5th at EKKO.
Line-up
Belleman Brothers
The twins Jonas and Wout Belleman are only 17 years old, but they are already a familiar sight in some parts of the Dutch music scene. Since they were 15, they have been playing old-fashioned jazz almost weekly at cafés in Haarlem, Amsterdam, and The Hague. They have been playing together as a duo since they were six years old, and last year, Wout released his debut album at the age of 16. So get ready for a spectacle!
Limerent
With their catchy guitar riffs, hard-hitting drums, and fierce vocals, Limerent delivers a varied and energetic show. This Utrecht-based alternative rock band draws influences from many different genres, including punk, grunge, and rap. After winning the Grote Prijs van Leidsche Rijn, they have been busy writing new songs, recording in the studio, and, of course, performing as much as possible, including at The Revolution.
NIAMH
NIAMH takes you on an adventure through a circus, an alley, a club in the ’80s, or back to the simple feeling of love. With her insanely catchy melodies, quirky synth sounds, and unique basslines, you feel as if you’ve woken up in a completely different universe.
DJ Zonnevlam
With Zonnevlam, you travel through the world of electronic music. She invites you to come dance to jazzy house, groove to deep basslines and hypnotic beats. Don’t expect a standard club banger, but a carefully crafted experience that captivates and enchants you!
