Live showcase of new album full of catchy nederpop
From his studio in a bunker deep in Utrecht, Nonchelange creates cheerful, catchy indie pop that’s hard to get out of your head. This year, he received the UP:Next grant, a support from the Cultuurfonds Utrecht that helps pop musicians from the province take the next step in their careers. Nonchelange used the grant to work on his second album Hoofd, which will be released on January 30. After selling out EKKO earlier, Nonchelange returns to the Bemuurde Weerd on December 4 for a free showcase, offering a preview of Hoofd and marking the finale of his UP:Nex trajectory. Expect an innovative, masculine rock show in which Nonchelange pushes his musical boundaries.
The support act for the showcase will be Wabi Sabi. Donja Meijne’s project blends hypnotic grooves, dreamy textures, and introspective lyrics into immersive pop songs, appealing to fans of Tame Impala, Melody’s Echo Chamber, and Beach House.
After the concert, you can stick around for Loopt Wel Los… Utrecht Rock Event (URE). As the official afterparty of their own show, NONCHELANGE will be hosting this new edition of Loopt Wel Los…. With DJ sets from Wabi Sabi b2b Rammelbak, GRAYTOOTH, and NONCHELANGE’s own Yacht Rock DJ set, one thing is for sure: you’re going to rock.
