A NIGHT FULL OF WARM CLUB SOUNDS, CHALLENGING SETS, AND EXPERIMENTS FROM THE BEST SELECTORS

Welcome to Weerd: where we bring people together with warm-blooded club sounds, all curated by the best selectors. Expect challenging, long sets full of experimentation and sizzling boogie, funk, disco, house, and soulful grooves. With Antwerp’s finest DTM Funk and local rising start Naima on the bill.

DTM Funk
For over 10 years, DTM Funk has been at the forefront of the Antwerp and Belgian music scene. Before earning his stripes as a DJ, he laid the groundwork in the city’s nightlife, cultivating a diverse musical landscape.
With his Black Gravity events, DTM strives to represent Black club music in its broadest sense: club nights, discussions, films, performances, exhibitions, and listening sessions. As a curator, he has a keen ear for new music and emerging artists, quickly recognizing hidden talents. He has provided a platform for rising Belgian stars like AliA, as well as international acts such as Carista, Suze Ijó, and many others. As a resident of Horst Festival, DTM has firmly established his position as one of the most sought-after and versatile DJs in Belgium. His repertoire cannot be described by genres but rather by the common threads of soul, groove, and rhythm. With a record collection ranging from percussion-driven grooves to Jazzfunk/soul records and sexy and raw house and techno gems, you can find him playing early sunny afternoon festival sets as well as closing out a dark club night. We are fully confident in entrusting him with the last two hours of our club night.

Naima
On opening duties, we have local DJ and selector Naima. Originally from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, she has since settled in Utrecht. Her deep connection with the music she plays is driven by an endless curiosity and desire to explore various sounds and cultures. Her musical foundation began with Lounge compilations and Memphis Hip-Hop tapes, and she has since developed her own sound, partly rooted in the past and partly in the present. Naima’s sets are reflective and intentional, offering a glimpse into the music that continues to shape her over time.
