EKKO employees will take the spotlight to open the new concert season
During EKKO ON STAGE, our employees will take the spotlight to open the new concert season. From sound engineers to bartenders; this evening they will prove how talented EKKO’s team is with performances by four different bands. Featuring Evy & the Assholes, LÖNA, REYCK and Ziggy Splint.
Everyone is welcome from 4:00 PM at EKKO, and entrance is free. Between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM, there will be guided tours of our venue, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at EKKO. Starting from 6:00 PM, you can enjoy a meal in our café, and at 7:00 PM, the band programma will start.
Evy & the Assholes
Utrecht-based surf rock garage band Evy & the Assholes play high-energy instrumentals influenced by everything that makes rock ‘n’ roll exciting. Link Wray meets the X-Ray Spex. Last spring they released their first EP ‘Kickin’ Ass with Evy & the Assholes’ produced by Arjan Spies (a.o. the Kik).
LÖNA
LÖNA is the dark indie pop band of identical twin sisters Madelon and Danielle Bruinhof. With a large dose of echoing guitars and icy synth sounds, they sing about subjects such as the death of their father, feminism and LGBTIA+ love.
REYCK
Four students’ vision of life, turned into a mega-tight slide of britpop, dutch pop and rock ‘n’ roll, is how you could describe REYCK. With a mix of sexy grooves and beats and downright bawdy bass lines, REYCK gets everyone involved.
Ziggy Splynt
Thumping drums, screeching bass and haunting guitars: that’s Ziggy Splynt. A dive into a musical world somewhere between post-rock and dreamy landscapes. The Utrecht-based alt-rock trio has years of live experience behind them, including participation in Popronde, multiple UK Tours, and appearances on various national radio stations
Hungry? The all-in vegan snack bar Last Vegas is providing food this evening, available for order from the kitchen. This is what’s on the menu:
