Postpunk meets electronica from Ireland
Post-punk with an ominous twist: that’s Chalk, the project of Irish musicians and filmmakers Ross Cullen, Benedict Goddard and Luke Niblock. The trio combines their shared love for the dance scene and dark noise in explosive and raw post-punk. They intertwine all this with dark, monochrome visuals created by themselves. It results in a fascinating musical clash, which is even more impressive live. As BBC Radio’s Jack Saunders puts it aptly: “A band full of TNT… a sucker punch of a blow to the chest”.
Support: One Another
The Utrecht-based duo One Another draws inspiration from artists such as Drab Majesty, Aphex Twin, Cocteau Twins, and John Maus. This results in a unique style and a refreshing blend of darkwave, post-punk, trip-hop, and shoegaze. In August 2023, they released their self-recorded and self-produced debut EP ‘The Chasm.’ Now, they bring their genre-blurring experience to ACU as the supporting act for Chalk.
