DARK POSTPUNK-WAVE-COMBINATION ON TASTEFUL LABEL SPEEDY WUNDERGROUND

Calling Jojo Orme a musician doesn’t do justice to the Heartworms frontwoman. We are dealing here with a poet who elaborates on Dylan Thomas and W.B. Yeats, with an architect building her own dystopian world. Stylish like Interpol, gruff like Siouxsie Sioux. In no time, the South London band built a reputation with theatrical live shows, where Orme not only uses a guitar, but also provides Heartworms’ music with her ominous theremin with extra gothic impulses. After the release of the EP A Comforting Notion on the tasteful label Speedy Wunderground and compelling passages at festivals Zeitgeist, London Calling and Down The Rabbit Hole, it is about time for a headline show in EKKO.

Support: Kboy en de Goedzo Jongens
In a performance by Kboy and the Goedzo Jongens, anything goes, and nothing is too crazy. This childishly playful post-punk band is a big fan of The Garden, Cake, B-52’s, Kleenex, and Shannon and the Clams, but some say their music sounds more like Britney Spears in wooden shoes. With a touch of humor and self-mockery, they create music that is accessible to everyone.
