Versatile Chicago musician makes lush folk with hints of jazz

From an early age, Chicago-based versatile musician Macie Stewart felt drawn to music and sound; she learned to communicate with music and with words at the same time. In her solo project, this expresses itself in finding comfort and strength in solitude in comforting folk sounds with occasional forays into jazz. It resulted in her powerful debut album “Mouth Full of Glass,” which she released in 2021 but received a re-release in Europe late last year. In the meantime, Macie never sits still: she is one half of indie pop band Finom (aka Ohmme) and arranger/co-writer for artists such as SZA, Chance The Rapper and Whitney. She previously performed in Utrecht as the support act for Widowspeak; now she returns to our city as part of her own tour.

Support: Coos
The 18-year-old Coos only recently entered the Utrecht music scene as a young singer-songwriter. Inspired by artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, Julia Jacklin and Fenne Lily, she makes soothing music where she philosophizes about her path to adulthood and recognizable moments in her life. Her warm and distinctive voice has a calming effect; altogether, a very nice warm-up for Macie Stewart’s show.
