BELGIANS RETURN TO THE ESSENCE WITH ACOUSTIC-BASED FOLK ROCK

Mooneye blends modesty with grandeur and precision with playful elements. After the successful debut album ‘Big Enough’ and the subsequent tour, the band entered the studio for a follow-up in late 2022, and frontman Michiel Libberecht aimed to return to the essence: intimacy from an acoustic foundation. He drew inspiration from the American way of songwriting, elements of folk and country, and was influenced by artists like Kevin Morby, acoustic Beck, and the soundtracks of Morricone and Luppi. The result brings immersive folk-rock, which the band delivers with a thunderous live performance. The true Mooneye experience, after all, is enjoyed live, and that can be experienced in the spring of 2024 at our venue on Bemuurde Weerd.

Support = Noa Lee

Noa Lee creates playful indie music consisting of dreamy melodies and harmonies with a whimsical touch. The band is considered the musical brainchild of Nina Kortekaas, who also played with Eefje de Visser, Admiral Freebee, Hydrogen Sea, and An Pierlé. With the release of their first EP, premiered online in the form of a short film and live session during the Covid period, they took their initial steps into the Belgian music scene. On October 20, 2023, they released their debut album ‘Airship,’ and now they are set to perform at EKKO in March.
