ENERGETIC DOUBLE-BILL AT THE CROSSROADS OF HARDCORE AND HIPHOP

The eclectic, post-hardcore sound of Show Me the Body is heavily influenced by punk, hip-hop, noise, and hardcore, reflecting the contrasts of their hometown, New York. The trio creates a sound that constantly pushes the boundaries of the hardcore genre. Their intense mix of genres and instrumentation is highly idiosyncratic, making their live shows exceptionally energetic. While their 2016 debut ‘Body War’ had a rather nihilistic tone, they have developed an increasingly broader sound over the years. The deliberately raw lo-fi sound of their most recent album is too brutal to be considered punk and too twisted and strange to be categorized as hardcore. On this tour, they will perform at EKKO for their only club show in the Netherlands, joining the post-hardcore quartet MSPAINT.

MSPAINT excels in integrating synthesizers in a surprising way into their post-hardcore sound. Last year, they released the strong debut album ‘Post-American’, inspired by aggressive punk rhythms and enriched with electronic elements. The urgent, direct, and confident vocals are supported by synths ranging from cheerful eighties influences to more ethereal sounds. This summer, MSPAINT will bring their intriguing sound to Lowlands and will also perform a mosh-worthy club show at our intimate venue at Bemuurde Weerd.
