A NIGHT FILLED WITH WARM CLUB SOUNDS, CHALLENGING SETS, AND EXPERIMENTATION FROM THE BEST SELECTORS
Welcome to Weerd: here we bring people together with warm club sounds, all curated by the finest selectors. Expect challenging, extended sets full of experimentation and electrifying house, acid, disco, and heavy tunes.
Wrong Sal
The rumors appear to be true.. Rotterdam’s Wrong Sal not only whams the whams, but also jams the jams. The Clone clerk and resident of former Bar Rotterdam and MONO collects serious amounts of records and does not shy away from any type or style in the process, as long as the sound is straight-up. He translates this arcane taste to club- and radio appearances (both Red Light Radio & Operator) scattered throughout various slices of spacetime.
While you can find Wrong Sal playing anything from deep roots jams from Jamaica to P-Funk anthems, this night he’ll reach deep within the crates for the more raw and gritty. Brought to you from Rotterdam to the EKKO dancefloor, we’re more than ready for Wrong Sal’s curveballs and heavy hitters!
Krismika
Although Krismika is a big fan of downtempo oddities, her opening set will be anything but a slow start. As a DJ, her sound yields a broad selection of tunes within the genres of electro, new beat, EBM, wave and italo. And while she easily maneuvers through the spectrum of downtempo sounds, she won’t hesitate to raise the energy to a peak-time level as if it were 3 AM in a sweaty basement.
Hailing from Rotterdam, Krismika is a DJ who’s heavily involved both on and off stage in Rotterdam’s nightlife. Next to DJing she works as a programmer for online radio station Operator and does research on gender in the underground dance scene of Rotterdam.
Two DJ’s from the sprawling metropolis of Rotterdam, 4.5 hours of heavy tunes and a packed dance floor, this promises to be a good one.
