The Belgian AliA has been making waves for some time now. With an ADE debut at the age of 17 and a huge list of notable bookings, such as Boiler Room, Dekmantel, and Horst in her back pocket, the now 23-year-old DJ is someone who has long been at the top of the shortlist. As a technically strong DJ who effortlessly switches between genres and determines the tempo of the evening with daring and self-confidence, she fits perfectly within the picture of WEERD. From soulful house to jungle to jazz, AliA’s hyper-eclectic set will undoubtedly be a turbulent ride, in the most positive sense of the word.
askmelater
When you talk about DJs in Utrecht and the surrounding area, you absolutely cannot ignore askmelater. 3voor12 calls them ‘One to watch’ and the sets at DOKA, Basis, EKKO, and Wildeburg speak for themselves. As a radio host, askmelater is also one of the notable names. With a focus on promoting local sounds and selectors, they are a welcome guest, with a residency at RadioRadio and several Future-Intel and Stranded FM sets. From footwork to R&B to UK Garage in daring, personal, and intimate sets. All wrapped up in a technically strong package with loads of energy – askmelater opens the evening, but expect anything but a calm start.
