A NIGHT FULL OF WARM CLUB SOUNDS, CHALLENGING SETS AND EXPERIMENTS FROM THE BEST SELECTORS
Welcome to Weerd: for this one-year anniversary, we are returning to warmer, slightly eclectic, and obscure sounds. This edition features Camille Maria & Eileen.
Camille Maria, originally from Italy but now based in Amsterdam, is an absolute connoisseur, both in his music and beyond. Expect an eclectic set where genre boundaries disappear and everything is carefully thought out. With love, experience, and knowledge, he selects records from his vinyl collection that range from dubby rock to percussive house to paradise garage classics, blended into a warm, coherent, and danceable whole. In addition to his DJ career, he is involved in numerous projects in the music industry, such as the 53100 festival in Italy and the Dusty Cabinet events in Amsterdam. He is also a familiar face in our city, having played his first radio shows at the Utrecht-based Stranded FM and having performed in the city several times, including here at EKKO. We look forward to a delightful set of boundaryless organic and analog tracks and warm club sounds.
The evening will be kicked off by Amsterdam’s own Eileen, who made waves in the past year with her soulful house and disco selections. With performances at festivals such as Lowlands and Expedition Festival, and gigs at Shelter, Pip, Weelde, and Lovelee, she has won the hearts of many dancefloor enthusiasts. As a resident at Operator Radio, she regularly demonstrates a deep knowledge of music, stemming from her early love for artists such as Prince, George Benson, and Diana Ross whose records she found in her parents’ collection. With a profound love for the groovy and dancable, she will lay an excellent foundation for the night.
