Laid-back indie folk forms a captivating soundtrack for warm late summer days

With their charming indie folk, Bonny Doon creates a laid-back atmosphere in the best possible way. Both familiar and refreshing, and therefore never boring. Founded in Detroit in 2014, Bonny Doon emerged from a more lo-fi and garage-oriented sound and evolved over the years into a more relaxed and understated style. Last summer saw the release of their long-awaited third album, ‘Let There Be Music’, which clearly showcases their dreamy aesthetic. Drawing influences from artists like Neil Young and Silver Jews, the trio delivers a beautiful melodic sound that takes listeners on a journey to an imaginary world of peace and reflection. This fall, Bonny Doon brings their interpretation of life in Detroit to Utrecht in late summer vibes, specifically at Brewpub De Kromme Haring.

Support: Nagasaki Swim
Nagasaki Swim, the indie folk project of Jasper Boogaard, delivers lush songs at the intersection of emo and folk. Although Jasper resides in Rotterdam, he found his musical kindred spirits in Philadelphia. This blend of nostalgia for his time in the U.S. and its subsequent reflection forms the basis of his dreamy indie rock, infused with elements of folk, country, emo, and ambient music. His second album, released last year, offers a mix of dreamy sounds and melancholic refrains. Jasper is now bringing this music from the home studio to the stage with a live band, where not only the nostalgic feelings but also the refined melodies and detailed arrangements come to life beautifully.
