NEW CLUB NIGHT BRIDGES UK GARAGE, HOUSE, HIPHOP AND MORE

A tribute to the energy and diversity of modern sounds from the UK – new club concept DON’T MIND THE GAP aims to bring a breath of fresh air. A night bursting with energy, genre crossovers, and extended sets that enable selectors to showcase their most versatile and experimental side. From soulful UKG and housy sounds with sultry R&B vocals to hard UK bass, Grime, and jungle. DON’T MIND THE GAP bridges the sounds, with RETROMIGRATION and DEY.REY at the helm of this first edition.

Retromigration has become a familiar term both nationally and internationally in recent years. A DJ with a broad range, fitting into both soulful-house bookings at Doka and the Passion DEEZ & Friends extravaganza during the last ADE. The producer and DJ draws inspiration from hip-hop, jazz, soul, and funk, releasing tracks at a rapid pace that are a melting pot of cultural influences, always with their own unique stamp. They transcend genres, taking listeners on a sonic rollercoaster that reflects their own artistic evolution and their Nigerian and Ghanaian roots. It’s a fusion of sounds that captures the artist’s deeply rooted background and musical upbringing. And besides, it’s just incredibly danceable. With a whopping 3 hours set ahead, we’re very curious to see the different facets of Retromigration on display. From soulful vibes to club bangers, Retromigration is that dude.

The closing chords of the night will be played by Dey.Rey, who is slowly becoming infamous in Utrecht. The energy is high, just like the BPM. Jungle, DNB, and lots of other mischief fly at you, accompanied by some playful vocals here and there. Making people jump seems to be her specialty on Instagram, and we haven’t stayed grounded ourselves either. She tore down De Helling with a set we described as “playful destruction” in the best sense of the word. And after her set at Queer in Wonderland in EKKO, the staff quickly asked us to bring this lady back. here you go, guys. March 9th is the day.
