Indiesoul-project from California transports you into a world of dreampop and Japanese influences
Ginger Root is the project of singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Cameron Lew. After building a great reputation in Asia and performing alongside indie icons such as Khruangbin and Durand Jones, he is making the move this fall to come to Europe for the first time. Inspired by Japanese art and culture, Ginger Root creates a sound of his own, which he himself describes as aggressive elevator soul. With his DIY attitude, Cameron Lew writes, mixes, and produces everything himself, and with a background in film, the visuals are also the work of the Chinese-American artist. The combination of dreamy melodies and lush videos transport you into Ginger Root’s universe, where the listener is challenged to become a viewer as well.
