Platform1 is coming to Utrecht with INTRO, a club night dedicated to the culturally rich sound of Bubbling, the dynamic fusion between the Caribbean and the Netherlands. Bubbling is a blend of the rhythms of reggae, dancehall, and electronic beats that has been shaking and sweating clubs since its inception. This evening, Rozaly, DJ LELE, Kim V, and DJ UNK will showcase the sound at its best.
The Curaçaoan Rozaly aims to break the boundaries and stigmas surrounding Caribbean sounds, infusing his sets with the cultural heritage and forgotten traditions of the Caribbean. After performances at Dekmantel, Nyege Nyege, De School, and Garage Noord, it’s now time to bring the authentic vibe of the Caribbean to EKKO.
Hailing from the vibrant island of Curaçao, DJ LELE brings the soulful sounds of the Caribbean to life on the dance floor. With his deep-rooted love for the rich culture of his homeland, DJ LELE’s sets are a sincere tribute to Curaçao. Through his infectious beats, he invites listeners on a journey filled with warmth, love, and the irresistible groove of the Caribbean.
Kim V brings the sound of the Caribbean to you. In her sets, she enjoys playing a mix of music she grew up with and contemporary hits, putting people in a feel-good mood. After performances at Lowlands, Notting Hill Carnival, and Rotterdam Carnival, she’s ready to make EKKO shake and sweat.
DJ UNK, also known as Tommy T, is a true music aficionado who developed his sound by collecting hip-hop vinyl and delving into the samples used on hip-hop records. From a young age, he discovered the art of digging and leaves no genre unexplored. From Cumbia to Bubbling, Hindi to Jungle, you name it, and it’s in his bag, as he blasts both the familiar and the unknown through the speakers.
